A night of poetry readings and performances in celebration of Scotland's rich culture of oral storytelling
An event organised by students in support of striking Edinburgh University staff:
"In response to the University of Edinburgh's ongoing and planned budget cuts of £140 million and axing of 90 degree programmes, including many from the Celtic and Scottish Studies department, we are concerned by the University's short sighted lack of investment in its staff, the Arts, and the ongoing cultural heritage of the city of Edinburgh. In defiance of this stance, Dùnadh is a joyful night of poetry readings and performances, celebrating Scotland's living tradition of oral storytelling and supporting the University workers currently forced to strike. The evening will be comprised of performances of established favourites, literary classics, and original poetry, with open mic slots also available on the night."
