The Museum of a Meal will take place in front of a shrine containing objects related to a single meal, including cutlery, ingredients and/or equipment. A number of spoken word eulogies will be delivered detailing the history of those objects and their particular role in the meal. Through these poetic eulogies the themes behind the meal becomes evident: memories of family, culture and belonging. The performance itself will therefore use the structures of ritual and prayer to give the objects in the ‘shrine’ renewed meaning in a new context.
